Additional Information

Fonicpac’s silica gel pouches are specifically designed with moisture adsorption in mind - protecting your products from moisture in their ambient environment. It quietly adsorbs the lingering humidity in your packed area, preventing mold, mildew and other structural degradation in the process.

Fonicpac’s silica gel comes with one of the most versatile customisations. Customisations focus on 3 areas:

01

Type of Silica Gel Combo

White, Blue White, Orange White, All Blue, All Orange

02

Weight

1g/pack up to 1kg/pack

03

Packing Material

Plastic, One-Way Paper, Non-Woven, Tyvek

This gives our clients total control over their moisture-prevention measures to effectively protect their items from moisture damage.

Fonicpac’s silica gel packs are intended for single use. To minimise the environmental impact, we recommend the following procedure for disposal of the used desiccant. Dispose of according to national and local regulations. The material as supplied is not classified as hazardous, dangerous or toxic. Approved landfill sites can be used. Note that used material which is contaminated with process materials may have different hazards/properties from the material as supplied. Dispose of used material in accordance with the nature of the contamination.

Below lists some of our most common silica gel packs available alongside with its details. For more information about other customizations alongside with their specific images, please contact Dan (0168181089) or email fonicpac@gmail.com for more information.

Installation, Usage & Storage

Usage

Silica gel packs start working as soon as they are removed from their master plastic bag. It is strongly advised that you do not take it out of the bag unless you need to use it. It is used across multiple industries, including but not limited to:

  1. Electronics, microchips, semiconductors;
  2. Perishables, dry food, baked goods;
  3. Textiles, furniture;
  4. Pharmaceuticals, medical equipment.

Silica gel is effective in controlling moisture levels inside a sealed bag/container where lingering moisture levels may still be present. This protects your moisture-sensitive goods from moisture damage such as structural deterioration, mold and mildew.

IMPORTANT USAGE NOTE

Please note that silica gel functions as a passive moisture adsorption device rather than an active moisture adsorption device, and cannot solve moisture issues if the item itself has a lot of moisture.

When to Replace

Silica gel packs can be regenerated, but are often intended to be single-use. After it has reached its saturation point of moisture adsorption, simply discard it or recycle it. You can determine its saturation point in one of three ways:

  1. Upon the availability of indicating silica gel (blue/orange), saturated packs will change from blue → pink; orange → dark green.
  2. Silica gel has an average of 35% moisture adsorption capacity. Simply weigh the fresh silica gel pack before use, then add 35% of the weight to the measurement. The summed weight would represent the silica gel pack's mass when it has reached its saturation point.
  3. Utilizing a HIC (Humidity Indicator Card). Upon colour change, it will indicate the relative humidity levels in the package.

Installation

Simply put the desired amount of silica gel packs into a sealed container of your choice. It is highly recommended that the silica gel pack be in a sealed container that is airtight and relatively dry for it to function as intended.

Storage

After taking out the desired amount of silica gel, keep the remaining silica gel packs back into their plastic bag, push out all the air and tie it up with a rubber band. Seal the carton or tin back to prolong its shelf life.
