Installation, Usage & Storage

Usage

Clay desiccant packs start working as soon as they are removed from their master plastic bag. It is strongly advised that you do not take it out of the bag unless you need to use it. It is used across multiple industries, including but not limited to:

  1. Electronics, microchips, semiconductors;
  2. Perishables, dry food, baked goods;
  3. Textiles, furniture;
  4. Pharmaceuticals, medical equipment.

Clay desiccant provides a consistent amount of moisture control inside a sealed bag/container where lingering moisture levels may still be present. This protects your moisture-sensitive goods from moisture damage such as structural deterioration, mold and mildew.

IMPORTANT USAGE NOTE

Please be noted that clay desiccant functions as a passive moisture adsorption device rather than an active moisture adsorption device, and cannot solve moisture issues if the item itself has a lot of moisture.

When to Replace

Clay desiccant packs are intended for single-use. After it has reached its saturation point of moisture adsorption, simply discard it or recycle it. You can determine its saturation point in one of two ways:

  1. Clay desiccant has an average of 35% moisture adsorption capacity. Simply weigh the fresh clay desiccant pack before use, then add 35% of the weight to the measurement. The summed weight would represent the clay desiccant pack's mass when it has reached its saturation point.
  2. Clay desiccant packs have changed from dry pellet forms into a damp, cold, soft, muddy and crumbly state.

Installation

Simply put the desired amount of clay desiccant packs into a sealed container of your choice. It is highly recommended that the clay desiccant pack is in a sealed container that is airtight and relatively dry for it to function as intended.

Storage

After taking out the desired amount of clay desiccant packs, keep the remaining clay desiccant packs back into their plastic bag, push out all the air and tie it up with a rubber band. Seal the carton or tin back to prolong its shelf life.
